Mild Congestion 5 days before Surgery

Hi wonderful ladies!
So I have been a bit congested the past two days with no other symptoms of anything else going on. I told my dr.s nurse and no one seems to concerned. I am! I don't want to get to the day before and something happen. They checked me for the flu (because I had a migrain AGAIN Yeasterday) and it came back negative thank goodness. So with that said, does anyone have any advice on what to do in this situation? Thanks for any info. and I hope you all have a wonderful night!!

Autumn

Re: Mild Congestion 5 days before Surgery

Hi Autumn.....you might want to ask for a chest x-ray.....that way you will know for sure your lungs are up to it. You could talk with your doctor to see if you need one.....but then again...you have 5 days to clear up....see how you do in the next few days. See if you get worse or not. Thank goodness you don't have the flu. I can see why you would be worried....your the one being put to sleep...not them. Keep us posted on how you are feeling. Good luck.

Re: Mild Congestion 5 days before Surgery

Chest xray would definately show something if there is something to be concerned about. I too felt kinda congested before my surgery I explained to the doctor that I thought I was coming down with something but chest xray showed everything was a-ok. I suggest you for sure take cough drops for after surgery because my throat was killing me for after not sure if that congestion built up right after surgery or if it was just plainly that breathing tube they put when you go into surgery . Either way wishing you the best of luck

I hope it is all ok. I know I have been congested too but lately only at night, so I chalked it up to an allergy... we have been getting a lot of rain.... and just took some benadryl for it. Which I can't do tonight of course, so my nose is a little runny.
