Mucinous cystadenoma of right ovary with rare foci of borderline malignancy

This is the official diagnosis of my tumor that was removed several years ago. I've never seen a gyn/onc and will call on Monday to try to get an appointment, but in the meantime I wonder if anyone can help me interpret what this means. The doctor who removed the tumor said that tumor board determined I didn't need further treatment after it was removed, but I'm starting to question the diagnosis and treatment. If anyone has an idea of what the diagnosis means, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks!

Re: Mucinous cystadenoma of right ovary with rare foci of borderline malignancy

I also had a RSO one year ago, due to a 19cm mucinous cystadenoma. The frozen section that was examined during surgery was benign, however upon further investgation the pathology report found atypia cells, i.e.not normal. I was then classified as borderline. I was put on the watch and see program, because as the oncologist said, there was no reson to go back in to remove everything ( which would have been done had they known there were atypia cells) because this rare tumour may never come back. I now get a cat scan everything six months and so far everything is fine. It has only been on year though so far.
I think this is the same as yours. Mine was also classified as rare.
