LIW - Take Care of yourself prior to surgery!

Hi all! I am scheduled for a TAH/BSO on Sept. 20th. When I went for my preop checkup they caught a little wheezing in my chest. I am now on 4 meds to try to clear it up so that I can still have surgery Thurs!

I don't know what I'll do if they have to postpone!!! All this time I've spent coming to terms with it, my dh putting up with me!!!

So, please ladies in waiting, take good care of yourself before hand! Don't try to do too much (I think I did!) and get plenty of rest!!! Eat Well and stay healthy. Now I'm more upset about the possible delay than I am the surgery!!!!

Take care, and best of luck to all of you going in for surgery soon!

Hi BettyBoop,
I hope they don't postpone your surgery. I know you are probably anxious to get it over with. I don't have my surgery date, so I am on pins and needles!!
Take care and I'll pray your surgery date is as planned and I wish you a safe recovery.

Thankyou Linda!

I hope you find your date out soon! It didn't take long for them to schedule my date once the decision to do the surgery was made. Perhaps you'll hear this week!

Thanks for the prayers that my surgery will go as planned. LOL, I know my dh would thank you too! He's so tired of seeing me in pain for most of the month, and feels so helpless. We are both looking forward to "life after the hyster"!

Good Luck!

Karen

LIW - Take Care of yourself prior to surgery!

Thanks for posting this reminder and I hope you're well enough for your surgery this week!

I had caught some bug from my kids and didn't slow down or try and recoup and this past Thursday passed out when I woke up. I remained so dizzy and week that I had to go to the hospital by ambulnce and it turned out I was mostly sick from the virus I caught-badly dehydrated etc. They tanked me up with fluid and antinausea meds and I've wnet home. Too be honest I haven't been resting as much as I should, but realize now that if I am sick next month they may postpone the surgery so I'd bette r do better!

Take care!

Scared about pre-op

Well, I go for my pre-op tomorrow afternoon and my greates fear is that they will find something wrong and postpone my surgery!!

I do home health work and one of my clients suddenly announced Saturday afternoon that she didn't feel good and promptly threw up all over me !! Have been going crazy thinking some germ is gonna show up in my blood work tomorrow and they'll say no surgery!! Don't think I can cope if they cancel it - I have my bag packed, my house as clean as I care about, the freezer stocked and mentally, I can't wait past Friday!!

Please think good thoughts for me tomorrow afternoon -- thanks for all your support and for listening to me gripe!!

Love you all-
Jane Elizabeth

Bettyboop and other ladies on this thread.

I hope that you all stay well for your sugery. Betty I am sorry that you are sick. Lets hope that the antibiotics work.

I am going in tomorrow and have worried about getting sick the whole time. The flu is going around and I just want to get this over with. My stomach hurt so much today that I thought I was getting sick. Do you know how many times I took my temperature today? 7 hours for me. God I just want to wake up in recovery. Pain or not I will know it is over.

Bye and see you on the other side

Hi Ladies!

Thanks for all the good wishes and support. We sure need it as we get closer!

The doc gave me an antibiotic, a decongestant, cough syrup, and an inhaler. I went back today and it's better....so we believe surgery on Thursday is a go!! Doc also said no more work until after surgery! So, I get an extra two days off before hand! Instead of rushing around trying to get things done I'm going to rest! Only thing I'm going to worry about is packing my bag for the castle. Don't want to forget anything!

Good Luck to you all. May you all stay healthy!

God Bless

Karen
