Bleeding post-op and pain

I am three weeks post-op, and having vaginal bleeding. Last week I was in the hospital for the bleeding. My doctor said it was possibly a blood pocket that collected around the vaginal cuff. The bleeding is still enough to soak through to my clothes, and tonight when I wiped a suture was on the toilet paper. I am cramping like its my menstrual cycle, and pain medicine isn't helping. Does anyone know if this is normal? My body is telling me something is wrong.

Re: Bleeding post-op and pain

I am bleeding but I am only 8 days post op and mine is not as heavy as yours sounds but mine is clots which is worrying me. I would get it checked if it is worrying you as much as it sounds it is. If you need to chat I am here.

I would get a second opinion from another Dr. Listen to your body. I am 6 weeks post op and started to bleed day six. It was an infection but I did not bleed as much as what you are describing. Is your Dr. a specialist? Let us know how you make out.
Sending you hugs.

In week 2 I passed some stitches. I also forgot to mention that at 4 weeks post op I also developed terrible abdominal and back pain. Pain meds weren't working and I was throwing up. Went to emerg they couldn't find anything but the next day I passed vaginally what looked like a piece of stewing beef. I felt immediate relief and the pain was gone. Still waiting for the biopsy results but it may have been a very large blood clot.

Re: Bleeding post-op and pain

My doctor is a specialist in gynecological oncology. He told me that the bleeding was collected blood pockets, but the blood is red blood. If it was old blood it would be more brown colored. This morning I woke up to a soaked pad and pajama's. I am calling the doctor on Monday morning. Calling this weekend would mean going to E.R. for the 4th time since surgery. Last time I went to E.R. I was admitted to the hospital for 4 days with no answers. This is so frustrating!!!

Re: Bleeding post-op and pain

Wow Im glad to hear that I am not the only one. I am at two weeks and I am bleeding heavy. I was in the hospital last week for fever and they found a small hemotoma size of a golf ball. I had been bleeding prior to going to ER. He said it was good to be bleeding it out. They ran 8 bags of antibiotics threw me and sent me home next day with more to take at home. I just started bleeding heavy yesterday with alot of pain. I go to the bathroom and it just drips out of me. I am worried that maybe its something else. I hope everyone else is doing better. Im calling Monday dont want to go to ER if I can help it. I will let you all know. Take care

Re: Bleeding post-op and pain

It sounds like there are more women that have these problems than my doctor told me. I also had to take antibiotics after I was in the hospital.
