3.5 weeks post-op, discouraged by difficult recovery

Hi all,

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy on Oct. 5 for a large fibroid tumor. Fortunately the dark spot they were worried about was not a sarcoma, so I am cancer-free. But I am struggling with my recovery and starting to get discouraged. I'm still having a lot of pain and constipation is a daily battle. I've had doctor's appointments almost every day this week so I am exhausted. I'm struggling with some blisters near my incision that won't heal up.

Of course, I have a good prognosis and much to be grateful for. My wonderful friends and family have been visiting and brining food. I don't mean to complain. I am just looking forward to making friends on this site and finding other women who can relate to what I am going through. I'm sure that things will get better!

I look forward to connecting and getting to know my Hyster Sisters better!

~~Betty

Hello, Betty!

Enjoy meeting your Sisters over on the Post-Op message board and don't hesitate to start new threads there if you have any questions or concerns of your own. Have a look through the Post-Op Page, too, for information that will help guide you through recovery.

I'm sending best wishes!
