Increasing pain

HI,

Over the past 2 weeks my pelvic pain has been increasing. The other night it was so bad I thought I was being stabbed.

Is this normal? Doc said this is normal...but just curious what others have experienced.

Thanks.

Re: Increasing pain

Hi. Not sure what your pain is coming from. Do you have cysts or fibroids?

Please share a little more info so we can offer some support.

In the meantime, hope you feel better soon!

Re: Increasing pain

Hi, Elura06. I started experiencing pain about 2.5 months ago (I'm pre-op). It resembles extremely bad menstrual cramps and the pain exists in one of my legs as well as my abdomen. I've told my docs about the pain, but no comment from them. My uterine problem started about 4 years ago, but pain didn't begin until recently. When I first started having pain, the pain didn't begin until afternoon, so a couple of OTC pain meds did the trick (and I tried getting my chores done in the mornings). However, now I can't even get out of bed without taking pain meds and I'm up to about 8 Tylenol per day. I foresee the Tylenol not working at all very soon, and I dislike taking narcotic pain meds. Most of my days are spent controlling my pain. I'm afraid to leave the house for fear the doubling-over pain will hit me when I'm away from home. I've been on a feeding tube for 15 years for another med problem so I can't just swallow some pills when I'm out. My hysterectomy is sometime this month and I hate to say it, but I'm looking forward to it just so this devastating pain will go away (knowing the hys will result in pain, too, but hopefully that pain will eventually subside). I know how hard it is, but hang in there. You aren't alone.

Re: Increasing pain

HI, I'm sorry for not giving more info...

I've had pelvic pain for a couple of years...increasing to the point I knew "something" was wrong so went to the dr. I have fibroids and am scheduled for aTVH (keeping ovaries) in 2 weeks.

The stabbing pain started really bad about 3 nights ago...woke me at 1am. I've been taking Tylenol (allergic to vicodin) and it puts it "at bay" for a while but then the stabbing comes back.

I'm not sure is the fibroids are growing or ?? but they must be doing something to set off the nerves to cause this much pain. Sort of takes my breath away and even bending (doubling) over doesn't help get rid of it. .....just have to "ride" them out.
