return to work after TLH

How soon should I be able to return to work after TLH assuming all goes well? My job requires me to be on my feet all day?

After a laproscopic hysterectomy, the general rule is at least 4 to 6 weeks. Although, some women are feeling well enough to return to work sooner with thier doctors approval.

Alot will depend on your own recovery rate and what your doctor decides what's best for you.

Discuss this with your doctor to get a better idea of the length of time to be off work. Please remember that TLH is a major surgery, give your body time to heal.

When I had my LSH I was told 2 weeks. I had the surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Monday but I do have a sit down job !

I didn't return to work until 4 weeks post op and then I did a week part time. I have a desk job and my problem was that I just couldn't sit comfortably for long periods of time. I found that if I got up once a hour and walked around the office for a few minutes it helped bunches!
