9 mo post-op spotting again...:(

I am 9 months post-op from a TAH! I've had granulation tissue removed about three months ago.

I found two hard pea sized lumps deep in vagina. I have a slight rectocele and noticed these lumps after difficult bowel movement. I have mentioned it to my dr. three times and he cannot find them!! He acts like I'm making it up.

I have no idea what these could be. I don't bleed after sex but every time I feel to see if the lumps are still there I come out with bright red blood. Ugh...embarassing but there's no pretty way to describe it.

I guess I need another dr. but I've been seeing him for 25 years and can't imagine calling his office to have my records transferred. He is an excellent surgeon but doesn't seem willing to work with me.

What could this be ladies???

Any ideas?

Hi - in my humble opinion - see another doctor right away - this does not sound normal and your doctor should work with you. and let us know how it works out.

hi, is your dr. the only one in the office? perhaps you can see another dr. in the same office, but definately, I would go for another opinion. praying everything works our for you and are able to finally see what those lumps you are feeling are....take care and hang on....

Well, ladies, I finally got a second opinion.

I really liked the doctor. My first Dr. said I did not have a rectocele. This Dr. has a nurse come in the room when he does the exam. First thing she said is: Honey, you have a rectocele.

He wasn't concerned about the lumps either but said he would remove them if I wanted when he repairs the rectocele.

He also says I need vaginal estrogen. He runs a q-tip over the walls and they bleed.

My mother had breast cancer so my hematologist says no estrogen. This dr. is saying that since her cancer was after menopause and so on that this trace amt of estrogen is not a risk. I'm more concerned about the endometriosis. There must still be traces near my bowel unless they have burned off by now due to lack of estrogen.

Re: 9 mo post-op spotting again...:(

I found a pea size lump in my vagina probably 25 yrs. ago. My Dr. said it was nothing to worry about. I even asked my female Dr. several years ago, when he retired, and she said the same thing. I haven't felt for it in a looonngg time. I figure if the Dr. thinks it's something, she'll tell me. What do we go for anyway, right? I won't check for it anymore, because it was becoming an obsession to see if it was gone.
