Question - Best natural help and sex question Best natural help and sex question

Hi,
I had a hysterectomy in October 2007 at 46 years old. I have one ovary left. Last year I was not sleeping and felt like I was burning up but not having the "sweats". Doctor did tests and said I was in menopause. She guessed my other ovary was shocked and couldn't keep up. I started on .0625mg Premarin but very soon cut the pills in quarters because my I gained 10 pounds in less than 2 weeks. I've been taking the quarters like every 3 days and this has really seemed to be enough to just smooth over the symptoms with gaining weight. I sleep and do not have hot flashes. But after reading the issues on Premarin I do not want to take it anymore. What are the best herbs, soy, remedies that you ladies have found to help.
Also, one of the main reasons I went looking for HRT replacement was it just seemed so hard to be interested in sex. I think part was mental. I had been in a bad divorce and stayed alone for three years. I just met a great guy and got remarried almost one year after the surgery so of course I didnt' realize there was a problem in that area until I did get married. To be quite frank it just seems like the clitoris is dead. It's extremely hard to have feeling there. AS time has gone on it seems to be improving somewhat but I assume it will never be the same. Is my assumption wrong and maybe it was just my mental state???
Thanks in advance for any advice!!!!

Re: Best natural help and sex question

I feel your pain, I had told my GP that it takes me 25 minutes to orgasm, and that was me doing it, and I was going to have a callouses. LOL. I don't want to plug a line, but the Kama Sutra line does have some "gels" that enhance clitoral feeling. I suppose one could use Vicks vapour rub.

I felt dead from the waist down, and my breasts were starting to look like deflated balloons. I just started estraidol gel, off the testosterone (it was a brief, and angry two weeks). Hopefully things get back to normal.

I know that the idea of HRT is controversial, but until I find Viagra for women, and whatnot, I would rather die early with a smile on my face, then a frown because I was not enjoying life with my dear husband.

That being said, I know I have some emotional resentments with my husband, comments made when I was breast feeding. Those comments are locked in my mind.

I miss my orgasms, I want them back. There are herbal things out there, which is a natural thing for me to gravitate to, but some of these will carry risks as well. Just because some herbs are natural, they are not risk free.

Good for you for trying the HRT option. It's not for everyone, I know some people get upset about it, or have a family history with red flags (I do). I want to try everything before I give up. I just wish the medical community would make a libido pill for women, that actually worked and not solely focus on men.

Also remember if you are on certain meds (I am, for fibro, ME), those can affect your libido, even herbals like St. Johns Wort. So write down a list of everything you are taking and go over it with a fine tooth comb if this is the case. Discuss it with your doctor. I have found that my male doctor is extremely open to discussion, and is very sensitive.

I don't think that is a good idea at all! Please don't anyone try this without checking with your doctor first. I'll bet the doctor says

Re: Best natural help and sex question

Saw the quoted area ~~ oops, and yes, women have used Vicks for a warming sensation on their clitoris. Google it. Not my cuppa tea, but not life threatening.
