Re: Scheduled for December

Oh honey I know it is hard waiting I am waiting myself!! I am scheduled for 12/10 for a TAH and I am trying so hard to be patient and before a couple of days ago I thought I was going to go insane because instead of it getting closer everyday it seemed like it was getting farther away every day!! But I decided that I was just going to get up every morning and say thank you God that I am one day closer to getting all of this over with!! It is so hard being patient though especially when you are dealing with so many emotions at one time like me I am hurting and bleeding and anxious and sad all at the same time. But when you feel like crying just stop and pray and ask God to help you through one more day and before you know we will both be on the other side of the fence looking back in stead of where we are now looking forward!!

Re: Scheduled for December

Yup, it seems that way! I don't have a ton of questions so far. My uroologist and gyno who are "tag-teaming" my innards have explained everything to the n-th degree (including an interesting analogy about the uterus and a tube sock!!) with illustrations! My pre-op is the 8th of December.

The only thing I'm not 100% sure on is the length of stay (I THINK he said 3-4 days), and I want to make sure that I don't get sick afterwards. My DH said that when I got my tubes tied after they gave me the valium, all I talked about was not wanting to throw up! He said they finally gave me something to "shut me up"...LOL

Re: Scheduled for December

scheduled for dec. 1--15 days and counting. am in such misery now, can't wait for it to be over! had two c-sections--know it's totally different, but am going to use some of the tricks i learned then. lots of cranberry juice and water--keeps bladder infections and constipation away. do EXACTLY what the doc tells you to do--no lifting means NO LIFTING. lots of rest means LOTS OF REST. too many people ignore the rules and end up in trouble.

Re: Scheduled for December

It's great to have you join us!

If you've not already done so, please check out our <link> Pre-Op Support Forum where you'll find all the other ladies awaiting surgery, and feel free to start a new thread there if you have any concerns. (To start a new thread, just click on the "New Topic" button which is located at the top and bottom left of that forum’s main page, or by clicking HERE). We also have a Pre-Op Page which is packed with information, too.

We look forward to seeing you over on the hysterectomy message boards for your support needs and hope you'll enjoy social chatter and friendships here in Friends Without Faces!

Re: Scheduled for December

Fab Fairy....
I will be praying for you. They are intending to do my surgery vaginally, unless my uterus is too enlarged.

I guess I'll know after I wake up, huh?
