Would like to go to lunch or movie, how soon?

My DH would like to know when will I feel well enough to go to lunch or a movie. I know he's getting cabin fever and I am too but do not want to push myself. I am walking and I periodically go up and down the stairs in our home. Your thoughts are always appreciate. I am almost a week post op. I am amazed that I feel as well as I do in such a short period but want to keep going in a good direction though.

Re: Would like to go to lunch or movie, how soon?

I am not sure what type of surgery you had but I had the DaVinci method and I would have been able to goto the movies probably within a week but I would not have been able to sit through the whole thing. I would have had to stand up sometime during the movie. If I were you I would choose a lunch or a movie. I think if you feel good go for it. I had a wonderful surgeon and he said I could drive within a week and a half and he would have released me to light duty after 2 weeks. He said I could go out and do anything I wanted (except the obvious) as long as I felt fine.

Good luck.

I had a TAH and kept my ovaries, I was thinking if I did go to the movies I would have to stand up at some point too. I'll probably try a matinee in another week. Thanks for the in put.

Re: Would like to go to lunch or movie, how soon?

My surgery was the 18th as well and I was hoping to go see a movie Thanksgiving day.. I am going to do nothing until then so that I can make sure to at least make it two hours out!

Re: Would like to go to lunch or movie, how soon?

I had LAVH - haven't been to a movie yet, but went to a concert two weeks post-op. Had a fantastic time... Must admit, a few beers helped with that... I was going out to lunch the week after my surgery; just kept it close to home and didn't stay out long.

Re: Would like to go to lunch or movie, how soon?

I was able to go out for lunch at the 2 week point and I probably could've done a movie but not both in the same day. I was doing really well but just felt uncomfortable if I sat upright for too long.

Re: Would like to go to lunch or movie, how soon?

I went to a movie at the 3 wk point- my friend had bought me a ticket to go see New Moon I barely made it thru and was stiff and sore afterwards. It was hard to get comfortable and I did bring a small blanket with me. I would do either lunch or a movie- I think it may be too much to do both.It was nice to get out though! Best wishes!

Yeah I was hoping to see New Moon too and my surgery was on Nov. 18th, after your comment I think I may wait a bit longer.
