15 mos POST OP still spotting

I am 15 months post op and still spotting monthly. Come to find out since I have endometriosis the Doctor said that is the key indicator of why I am having spotting. He told me I had the following options: birth control, depo provera shots, Lupron, or surgery to remove the cervix. Help is anyone else experiencing this? The spotting has been more regular and during my visit this week he cauterized and now I am bleeding worse!!

Re: 15 mos POST OP still spotting

Oh, no! You had a hysterectomy only to go through it all again! Maybe you should try the birth control first, perhaps it will help you get back to normal. Lupron can only be done for a few months, can have unpleasant side effects and a lot of insurance companies deny payment as it's very expensive (mine wouldn't cover it). My cervix was removed due to the fibroids, endometriosis and a history of abnormal paps. I'm glad, because I never want to deal with that stuff ever again. I hope that you find a remedy that works for you and you can avoid further surgery. Good luck!

Re: 15 mos POST OP still spotting

I'm not a medical professional, so I may be totally on the wrong track her but...I wonder if you might want to think about a second opinion, just because your doc. said that the monthly bleeding would be from endometriosis, when so many times on here women have been told by their docs that their cervix bleeding monthly is called a mini-period, a monthly shedding that is somewhat uncommon but normal. Again, not being in your shoes, I don't know if he explained why he thinks it's endometriosis. The women here who've gone through this talk about different things they've tried, like the cauterizing and/or recauterizing and even cervix removal. Again, I don't know if the 2nd opinion thing is appropriate for you or not. Only you know if it applies to you or not.
