Question for women who had hyst for adenomyosis

Hi, me again, freshly post-op and still sorting through it all...

So, one of the major symptoms of my adeno was/(is) shooting leg pain. It is definitely tied to my cycle and strongest a few days before and up to a week after my period. It starts in the lowest right part of my abdomen and shoots down to the back of my ankle.

Well, I still have it. I read for many women it goes away immediately... if you had/have leg pain with adeno, what is your experience of this? Will it go away? I feel like I have my normal cyclicar pain AND the pain of the hyst now. I didn't feel it at first but maybe because I was too drugged up. But now it is quite strong.

Thanks for any experiences you can share...

Steph

Re: Question for women who had hyst for adenomyosis

Not long after surgery, I was feeling a pain in my right low abdomen that really felt like the pre-op pain from the ovary/cysts/adhesions. It made me quite concerned and I asked my doc about it at my 2 week check up. He told me that it takes the body a long time to 'forget' how to conduct pain like it is used to doing and for the pain fibers to "calm" down.

Edited to add that I'm also 3 weeks out from surgery now and I feel MUCH different than before - less heaviness, aching, and pressure. And the right sharp pain only comes back if I over-do my activity level.

Hang in there and just concentrate on healing.
You can discuss it with your doc when you see him in a couple of weeks. You are very fresh from surgery!
Good luck!
