1 day stay after tah in hospital?

My Gyno told me that my tah is a one night stay in hospital in Winnipeg. I cannot believe this. This is making me more nervous and anxious. Any other sisters only spend one night in hospital? I also asked my GP and he said yes to only a night in hospital. My Surgery is January 27/10 this news is making me scared.Any advice sisters?

I'm not sure what to tell you but I'm sure they wouldn't send you home if your pain isn't under control

traane, I stayed two nights after mine, but would have been fine going home after only one night. Like Deenie said, I'm sure they'll keep you longer if there's a need, though.

I stayed 2 nights also but could've gone home after one night. I was up and walking the halls all that day and might've actually slept better if I'd been in my own bed. I trust that they won't send you home if you're truly not ready, so try not to worry about it.

My doc told me two nights but I stayed four. They won't let you go if you're not ready.

I stayed two nights, but like the other ladies I could have gone home after the first night. Just make sure your pain is under control with oral meds. The nurses are great and if you need more time in the hospital, you will get more nights. Good luck!

I had a TAH and I stayed 3 nights they will not send you home if you are not ready. Don't worry.

Don't worry, it is not in your control and we have all been there.
I had mine (see type below) and as soon as I woke up I was put into a wheelchair and taken to the car, I remember myself snoring . I climbed the stairs in this state and then threw up, but was ok and survived it..

They will handle you on a case by case basis. Remember nothing will happen about the things you worry about. It is always weird other things that surprise you. You will probably forget your shoes or something crazier.

Try not to angst...we all did and for nothing. Your body is amazing and will not let you down.
