Kermit 1977 is there a nurse advice line associated with your doc or your hospital you could call? with the pain and the fever I wouldn't want you to chance anything without talking to someone right away for medical advice.

good luck

Re: Should I call the doctor?

I know that "pull down feeling" you are describing. I had it for weeks. And I also felt like I was sewn up too tight and for weeks I had a difficult time standing up straight. I looked very odd! Almost like I would rip open my incisions if I stood up straight. Although I knew that wouldn't happen, it sure felt like it though. Definately call the on call if your fever spikes to 101 or above.

Sorry about the pain, don't let them tell you that you don't need them, and let them know the OTCs aren't working. You've probably heard this a million times about gas pains, but as much as it hurts, getting up and doing as much walking as you can, even in little spurts does help ease that up a bit, I also took something like GasX to help with the annoyance.

I hope you get relief soon. You are still early in the recovery process. Take it easy and enjoy the holidays. (Hard I know when going thru this.)

Re: Should I call the doctor?

I wonder if working at two weeks is too much. It may be what your body is telling you. Let us know what the doc. says.

Re: Should I call the doctor?

Thanks girls for the advice...I am still waiting on the nurse to call me back.....Also for ReliefSeeker....I am not working..I am an at home mom so I dont have that concern. Moving around the house is hard enough for me so I know I could not go to work yet even if I did work. lol Sad to say. I thought it would be easier by now. I guess each person is different. Feeling a little bit better today but still not all that great at all. I hope they call soon.

That makes more sense. I remember thinking, wow, 2 weeks is early. ;-) I'm glad you're going to talk to the doc., but if it makes you feel better in the meantime, many women still have a hard time with pain at 2 weeks. I did too. The big concern is if it doesn't get any better over time or gets worse, or you develop something new, of course. :-)

Glad you are taking care of yourself.

Re: Should I call the doctor?

Nine days post op I had the same symptoms and ended up going to the ER. Lots of pressure, gas pains and a temp. They kept me overnight and gave me and enema. Fevers can indicate infection, so better safe than sorry. I must have had a bout of flu because my white blood count was normal. I left the next afternoon feeling a lot better, and no fever. Make sure you drink tons of fluids! I ditched the pain pills when I got home, everything except OC pain relievers. Been feeling good, except had another fever yesterday and got that same bloated, pressure feeling, but when the fever went away, things went back to normal. Not a doctor, so I can't say, but for me, all my symptoms came with a temp. Talk to your doc and listen to your body. Take good care.

Re: Should I call the doctor?

That seems to be mine too...bloating and lots of pressure with the low fever and just feeling all aorund yucky. Felt better today for the most part but still kinda sore as that is becoming a norm for me it seems....at least for now. I am gonna monitor it for the next few days as the doc did not seemed too concerned about it and told me to monitor since I had no fever today. SO if it continues thru Wednesday when I go back I will certainly bring it to his attention and see what he has to say about it. He did give me more pain meds and actually upped the strength of it so I am hoping this will work better for me. Just waiting on it to kick in.
