VH on 10/19, help! extremely moody!

I had a VH on 10/19 and still have both ovaries. For about the last month I have been extremely aggitated and easily angered. I'm telling slot at simple things and have no patience at all! I feel completely on edge. Today I also had a dizzy spell while out shopping and am loosing hair in handfuls! Could this be a hormone problem? I didn't think it was at first because of me still having my ovaries but know I'm not sure. If it is, does anyone know what the Dr can do? Or is there something I can do to help it? Will I have to he put on hormone therapy?

Hi (((jenlafata)))

It certainly sounds like having your hormone levels checked would be a good idea since you are having multiple issues. Hopefully since you still have your ovaries you will get beyond these issues very soon, but I would tend to want to discuss them with my doctor. Losing so much hair certainly sounds like it is hormonal, as well as the extreme moodiness and even the dizziness. Hope you find some successful solutions very soon!

Hi jenlafata,My surgery was sept 9 TLH/RSO,from day one I've been arguing with docs to check my hormone levels,Lh,Fsh,test.prog.were all within range BUT for sum reason they have not checked the estrogens! My moodswings are horrible,no patience, omg I snap at the littlest things.I've even thrown things.I feel shakey all the time.My body has no tolerance dealing with any stress either.Since my surgery I have felt horrible and the docs have blown me off.Its hormonal imbalance, the nurse even said so,I don't understand why they won't check the estrogens.I can't stand even being around myself!I bought progesterone cream at walmart, been putting It on my feet, couldn't do the black cohosh or estroven they made me dizzy!Well I hope you get some answers because I still haven't almost 4 mnths later.Take care sorry for the long post.Karen

Re: VH on 10/19, help! extremely moody!

Hi jenlafata, I had a BSO so no ovaries to deal with. I have read on many posts here that during surgery your ovaries can go to sleep. I'm not sure why this happens but I've also read that the time varies when they wake back up. I would talk to your dr, mine put me on xanax to deal with the edginess even though i'm on HRT, it wasn't enough. Hope this helps a little. Happy healing to you. Carole
