Re: Book Suggestions

If you like fiction, try anything by Anne Patchett - her prose reads so fluidly. Try "Taft," "Bel Canto," "The Patron Saint of Liars." For character development, no one beats Richard Russo, IMHO. I enjoyed all his books - "Empire Falls," "The Risk Pool," "Nobody's Fool," "Straight Man," and his most recent, "Bridge of Sighs." Dave Eggers fiction is a little more heady but all excellent reads. One of his most thought provoking is "What is the What," based on the real life experiences of one of the Lost Boys of the Sudan. And Jumpha Lahiri writes so well of the immigrant experience. Another fun read was Claire Messud's "All the Emperor's Children."

Have fun!

Re: Book Suggestions

If you need a good laugh check out the series of books by Janet Evanovich. She writes about this young woman in NJ who becomes a bounty hunter-for lack of other gainful employment. I have read all of them and they are " laugh out loud and pee in your pants funny". Very rarely do you come across books that literally make you laugh out loud when you're reading them! Lynne

Re: Book Suggestions

I've read the first two Millennium books and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the third. They are awesome!

The Help by Kathryn Sockett is also a great read.

I'm currently reading "The boy who harnessed the wind". So far I really like it.

Re: Book Suggestions

Anything by Robert Parker (except the 2 set in the 1800s- can't get into those), and Kay Hooper....love both!
