My recovery (a few tips)

Am now at week 3 after my op, and am progressing well, Had uterus, ovaries and cervix removed, nursing a nice tummy wound which looks like a quirky smile!! but if ime honest i feel no different than i did before the op. must admit i do have a posative outlook, which am sure helps, also took arnica tablets, which help with the healing process. Back ache was a big prob for the first week due to the fact that it was diffacult to stand strait, but gradually it is dissapearing. As i live alone i have to find ways to get by, surprising what you can do with your feet!!! i would kick any items of dirty washing to the machine, and put one item in at a time.(while sitting on the floor) And all my friends and family have been really great, i exchanged my kettle for a travel kettle which is so lite, a little prep before hand can make life a lot easier for when you come out of hospitial, am still not driving yet, but not the end of the world as friends pik me up and take me out for a cup of cofi.
I found it more comfortable to leave all my underwear off while at home and just wear smock tops etc, as while scar was healing i found it better not to have and pressure at all around the tum area. Found using my bowels a diffacult one as you can not use your tummy muscles to push, took regular laxatives for a while to keep me regular, and also made sure i took regular movicol. Is all i can say is to be sensible and listen to your body, and obey ... As your helath is more important than any thing. Am just looking forward to the new year now as i have hopes for a brand new and exciting life ahead, and hey girls No more periods!!!!
