You can get this neurglia from a hysterctomy pelvic sugery.. its a nerve that goes to the gentail area.. i am so depressed and so uncomfortable.. its the worse feeling down there.. its like a yeast infection 10 x times worse and bacterial infection x 10 times worse.. i am so mad about this hysterctomy. i am going to call a doctor that knows about this condition tommoorw.. it is so hard to have hope through this.. look it up.. i am at the end of my rope with this. has anyone gone through this. My husband is holding all my hope and strength i have none i have just been using ice and ice down there... i hope someone has heard of this.

Re: pudendal neurglia/ nerve entrapment :( ?????

Hi Alisa,

If you do have nerve entrapment it is not necessarily something the doctor did wrong. There are risks for every surgery. I developed nerve damage after my tah/bso. Although in hindsight, it may have actually occurred after a previous surgery when I had incision problems. I have learned over the years that my body just doesn't heal well anymore. Why that is I do not know, but it is something that I have to learn to deal with.

The important thing here is for you to seek help and get better. I hope the doctor you call tomorrow can help you.

Re: pudendal neurglia/ nerve entrapment :( ?????

If you google pelvic pain, there are several websites/organizations that specialize in pelvic pain. I've had some annoying pelvic pain right over my pubic bone, but it's not severe like yours. Everytime I go in for a check up I mention it, gyn/onc, said it was scar tissue, regular gyn said it was still sore from surgery (7 months) last week NP said it was probably nerve damage from DeVinci, cause that's where equipment presses down.
I hope you get better, keep us posted.

Re: pudendal neurglia/ nerve entrapment :( ?????

I have Pudendal Nerve Neuropathy following my Rectocele Repair and LAVHysterectomy. I am not sure whether that is what is happening with you or not, but you do need another examination. It could be a variety of things that are causing such extreme pain. One thing I DO NOT recommend is using ice, which will only cause a worsening of symptoms. Have you tried using a heating pad? In the meantime, return to your surgeon or try to find a Pelvic Pain Specialist in your area. I hope things get better.

Re: pudendal neurglia/ nerve entrapment :( ?????

I am 1 week post-op from bi-lateral peudendal nerve compression. There ARE doctors out there who can help you. I saw Doctor <> in Merrimack NH. Nerve blocks have solved the problem entirely for some patients who are diagnosed early so get after it and be aggressive. Neural blockers aren't going to help you long term no matter what yourprimary says. I've had the very same pain you are describing for 10+ years. The only thing you can do to help your pain level is avoid sitting whenever possible. Be careful using heat to releive pain as it can cause swelling to get worse.
Search for peudendal compression or neuropathy.
