i've been feeling 'period-y' for a day or two now, and just chalked it up to cycling (kept ovaries). i've never been a calendar gal, i just always kinda knew when to start watching for signs of aunt flow...so i have no real clue when i'm due.
for the past few days i've had that slimy (sorry, don't know a better descriptive term! LOL) clear/pinkish streaky pre-period discharge. last time i went to the bathroom it was brown with red clotty type stuff.
i'm not even four weeks post-op, and i'm already freaking out about getting mini-periods. i knew it was a risk with keeping my cervix and ovaries, but didn't really think about it being a sure thing.
i'm sitting here crossing everything on my body that this goes away and is just a normal part of the healing process.

Re: discouraged
I came across a blog from a few years back that chronicled the long term recovery from the same surgery and she said her mini-period was very consistent and regular requiring one pantiliner for day, another for night and done till the next month.

Re: discouraged
I am in my 3rd week of recovery and feeling pretty good. Have had no bleeding at all which they told me I might but I haven't. I am so hoping that I don't have a period anymore. I had my uterus removed and the doctor removed the top part of the cervix but left the part inside the vagina and he told me that only 1 in 100 people have periods so I pray I'm not the 1...

Re: discouraged
I kept my cervix but my dr. cauterized it reducing the chance of me getting mini periods. He said if I should happen to get one it should be no more than a day and very light. I had my surgery at the end of Oct. and have not had a mini period just the symptoms from ovulating because I still have ovaries as well. Maybe you can speak to your dr about cauterizing your cervix.

Re: discouraged
Then maybe that is what he did to my cervix. He said he removed the upper part of it but left the other part.
thanks

Re: discouraged
my doctor mentioned shaving it down as far as he could, and i requested that he cauterized it...so hopefully that all happened/worked out and what i'm experiencing is just normal healing process.
