Have Decided which Op.

Hi Everyone,

As some of you may know, I was really confused as to whiether I should have a total/sub-total hysterectomy, after speaking to my gynae again yesterday he has put my mind to rest, because my mom died of ovarian cancer and my 2 aunts had breast cancer, he felt that I did have a risk of getting ovarian cancer later, also I don't want to spend the rest of my life wondering if or when I too will get ovarian cancer, the cervix was not so much of an issue, although I do hope that when I am in a relationship again I can still enjoy making love.

Thank you to those that replied to my earlier post giving me advice.

I am due my op next Thursday 21st Jan. I am nervous as it will plunge me into menopause, any advise for natural ways to cope with symptoms as I don't intend to take HRT, would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to all those having op's soon.

Hi Linda

I'm glad your doctor was able to help you set your mind at ease. To help you with surgical menopause, you mind want to take a look at our Hormone and Menopause Central forum--which includes a sub-forum just for women not using HRT. You should find lots of suggestions there to help you manage!

I hope your surgery goes smoothly!
