Bit Of Humor (somewhat questionable)

One of the many things I both love and detest about DH is his sense of humor. He loves almost all British humor and finds even the most obscure jokes hilarious. He is the hands down king of puns among our family and friends, which isn't always a good thing, believe me. Nonetheless, he knows the value of a well placed bit of humor and today was definitely one example.

As you may know, I have been somewhat stressed about my upcoming surgery. Personal stress isn't necessarily one of those things I deal with well. I can handle most types of stress, but when it has to do with my personal well being or that of my loved ones, I get a little edgy.

So, we were driving home today and saw a tow truck pulling a broken down Volvo. To most people, this is no big deal. To DH, it was an opportunity for a joke. He remarked about a piece of anatomy that Volvo sounds like and then turned to me and cracked "what if they needed a tow truck to get that thing outta you?" This was immediately followed by contextual sound effects and hand gestures which just made me crack up.

Anyway, I had to share since it had to do with hyster and sometimes I just need some humor and thought some of you might too!

Re: Bit Of Humor (somewhat questionable)

Thanks for the laugh. Your husband sounds just like mine. My DH too comes up w/ some of the funniest things especially when it comes to stressful times/situations. Believe me when I say he has come up with some good ones related to my hyst. So happy when he makes me laugh about all of this. I think the old saying "If you can't laugh at yourself" is appropriate! Keep laughing....

I'm thinking of getting a temporary tattoo that says something like...
"You Are Here" with the arrow pointing in the appropriate direction.

Re: Bit Of Humor (somewhat questionable)

I got one for ya. I was getting things ready to cook dinner tonight. I only have 3 days till my surgery and all I am thinking about is getting through the next few days.

I look over at my husband standing at the kitchen sink and started laughing. I was cleaning out a chicken and all I could say was this is what I am having done in a few days.
