Absolutely no sexual desire.....not too good with husband.
Wonder how much longer he'll accept this lifestyle - my lifestyle....

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

I'm with you OB1. I too have zero desire.

I do however try to keep in mind that..."as bad as I DON'T want it....is as bad as he DOES". My dh has been very very patient, and he's learning how to woo me. I understand he's working a little harder these days and I try and be open to that. It's hard tho.

Keep your chin up!

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

Sounds like our DH's should be up for sainthood. Since my surgery in Oct 2008, we've 'tried' to be intimate 3, maybe 4, times. Absolutely nothing for me.....I have no interest what so ever. It was never a problem before my surgery. Finally, my gyn is adding testosterone to the mix. Let's see what happens.....

Be patient ladies.....someday we'll have the answers!

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

I am having the same problem, and dh is being wonderful about it. The few times we have been intimate I have had terrible abdominal pains afterwards. Now i am afraid to be intimate on top of no desire. I talked to my doctor and she told me that since I am on hrt and psych meds she doesn't want to add anything for the sexual dysfunction just yet she wants to wait and see if it resolves itself. Sheesh it's been over a year since my TAH/BSO. I told her about the pain and she said it might be muscle spasms but to keep an eye on it. i am at a loss. Anyone else experience this kind of stuff?
Frustrated..

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

I'm right there with ya, sistas!
Had my TAH in June of 2008. Have no desire at all. I'm single, live alone with no bf or dh, so friends I've told say I shouldn't worry, but I do. I used to get turned on watching certain movies - not anymore. I've even taken matters into "my own hands". It doesn't feel the same. In fact, it hurts afterwards, so I've only attempted like 3 times since my surgery.
Tried HRT cream and found out I was allergic. Take too many meds for other condidtions (IBS, TMJ, arthritis, etc) to try pills.
Any one else in the same situation? Any suggestions?

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

Me too...God if someone told me my sex life would be dead by the time I was 34 I would have lied! My DH...I feel so awful for him. If I try to go through the motions for him I can't even muster up anything. I just think God when will this be over... or finish already. That is the very few times I even bothered.
I am miserable about it! It beats the pain but sucks all the same!

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

Well, time has really put us through alot more pressing moments. At one point, we were going to break up (his decision). But - I swore I was not moving out of our house. I know he loves me, he knows he loves me...but, the lack of physical contact is really putting a horrible strain on our relationship. After the blow-up - we did get together intimately - and it seemed like, for me, from me, it was only being done for him and for the sake of our marriage. Not that he wasn't fully attentative - he was. I don't know..it really stinks that this has happened. Last year, my doc put me on testosterone mixed with my hormone theapy - but that didn't change anything. My question: WHY DON'T THEY MAKE VIAGRA FOR WOMEN?

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

(((ob1canobee60))), I know from experience how frustrating sexual dysfunction is. For me it was a balance of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone that brought back my libido.

Did your doctor test your free and total testosterone levels before prescribing the testosterone to be sure you were deficient in that hormone? There are other things which can cause a loss of sexual desire so it's important to pinpoint the cause(s) and work on solutions.

As for Viagra, some doctors will prescribe it off label for women but it's prescribed for arousal problems rather than for lack of sexual desire.

I hope you're able to figure out a solution that works for you.

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

I wish I could be more encouraging. I had my surgery in 1986. started experiencing a lower sex drive about a year after. My docter was old school, not much help. I have talked to woman Drs., general practitioners and others. tried diferent combinations of hormone medicine. It doesn't bother me anymore, but poor dh. He tries to understand, but it's not fair.

Re: Absolutely no sexual desire

Hi, I had my total hysterectomy in 2008. I'm in your boat, no desire at all. Just today, my Gyn/Onc advised that I go to a Dr. who specializes in FSAD (Female Sexual Arousal Disorder)........I'm thinking about it. This is all very hard to accept when once considers that a healthy sex life is now a thing of the past.............
