Increasing Tiredness....post op day 18

Post Op Day 18, and I am exhausted!!! I had a TAH/BSO on Feb. 2. That night they put me on Estradiol 2mg (I will be 40 in 3 weeks) and have not had any menopausal symptoms as of yet.
I went to my son's basketball tournament last weekend, which was post op day 11. It was an overnighter. I felt really good. I was still in pain, but wasn't tired or anything. Then Feb 14th, it hit me: TIRED. So I stayed in bed most of the week. I have been getting progressively (sp?) tired as the week went on. Yesterday (friday) I slept away the whole afternoon. Today I went to another b-ball tourney, but was just so tired the whole day? What gives? Am I doing too much? or could this be thyroid, or some other problem? Not enough iron, should I have my blood checked?
Thanks!

Re: Increasing Tiredness....post op day 18

I am almost 4 weeks post op and have discovered even on days when it is easy for me to forget that I have had surgery.... by the end of the night or the next day my body reminds me! It seems on the days I over do it, it takes me a day or two or constant rest to start to feel better. Take it easy on yourself. It's okay to rest and let someone take care of YOU (this is my BIGGEST problem!!). Anything that you feel you need to take care of right now is going to be there when you are better. You only get once chance to heal correctly. It never hurts to bring these questions to your dr., but from where I am sitting (which is in the recliner most of the time these days, lol), it's usually my body screaming at me for rest and me not listening. I have also found that the first 2 weeks I felt better than I have these last 2 weeks. I know that I am going to get better though, I just have to listen to my body!! (((Healing Hugs))) to you!!
