Endometrial Biopsy

I'm scheduled for a TAH on the 9th. I'm having a Endometrial Biopsy tomorrow. Is this painful? How long will the procedure last? What can I expect?

Re: Endometrial Biopsy

Hi Reese38 It seems to vary a lot by the individual woman. I had one years ago, and I have to say it was really not painful. The doctor said there would be a big "pinch" and then it would be over, and that's pretty much what it was. She told me I could take a Motrin afterwards if I wanted to and that I might have some cramping, but no worse than period cramps. I had a little cramping but it was not as bad as during my periods, and it went away that evening.

I think it helps to imagine it as already over while you're lying there waiting for it to happen - that's what I did. It was really over very quickly.

I hope yours goes as easily for you as mine did for me.

s,
-Linda

Re: Endometrial Biopsy

Hi Reese:
I had one abotu two weeks ago and it wasn't that bad. Mild cramling when they take the sample, some bleeding and discomfort. Nothing that a couple of advils cannot fix. Jusst make sure u rest after that so the cramps wont get umconfortable. Good luck!

Re: Endometrial Biopsy

Thanks for the advice! It wasn't too bad. Over before I knew it. It was pretty much like you said. I'm so glad I'm done with my last test. Only 6 more days. I hope that is over before I know it too!
