I had my ovaries out because my mom died of ovarian cancer so I don't regret it. I have used the vivelle dot patch for 7 years and have had no problem.
I think it is probably easier to take hrt and get balance without the ovaries. If you keep the ovaries they will fail or start decling at some point, and when you need the hrt for symptoms, it seems like balance is more difficult because the ovaries go up and down with fluctuations as they dwindle. I had problems with taking hrt when I had my ovaries before my surgery , as I was starting to go through menopause with the highs and lows of hormones and ovary issues.
