Gas,pain and bloating...Oh My!!

6 days post op and i have felt the worst today! pain, gas and bloating when will it end. nothing helps..tried everything..pain meds..gas-ex but nothing works.


i have no clue what else i can do...any suggestions would be appreciated...

We all know how that is! Walking helps ALOT!!! Even if all you are doing is walking around in your house. Also make sure you take stool softeners, it will help push things through, including the gas.

it seems like all i do is walk..drives my dh crazy (when he is here and not at work) i have not tried the stool softners and will be doing so shortly!! thanks

walking around the house, colace and prune juice worked for me, it took a while but it did eventually go away. I had butt spasms and it was awful. Good luck

Hey surgery partner, try the stool softners. I take at least 2 a day for a total of 200 mg. I buy the store brand that is like Colace. This has helped. I havn't had any carbonated sodas, only juices, water and a little milk. Have taken a few gas x. I really do think the stool softeners work.

This is another lovely symptom that we all must share lol. I have had this problem since surgery too. I think the gas pains hurt worse then my incision does sometimes. I am taking a fiber laxative everyday and that keeps things moving.

Have you tried Miralax? I've been taking it once a day along with Colace 3X/day and 2 GasX tabs twice a day...it really seemed to get things moving which relieves the gas. My dr. recommended the miralax because it is very mild and didn't cause cramping. Hope you are better soon!

Hi to all my gassy friends, it has been 3 weeks and four days, counting down the seconds. I still have gas. I have used gas x, it does help, but the gas is sitting behind my incision. I also chew gum and massage my belly, this really helps and a lot of walking around the house. I hope this will pass soon. Hang in their girls, your not alone, from your friend calm

Hi its calm again. I also have another remady. It helps to breath in your nose and out your mouth, it will relax you and your stomach muscles to pass gas. I also recomand reflexology, which is massage. Massage the palms of your hands and the arch of your foot which is related to your intestines. Be calm and the gas shall pass. I hope someone will find this usefull.

I do all of that and drink stomach ease tea... it has helped SOOOOO much!!!!
