spotting 6 mo post op?

I had a TAH BSO in early october. I have been cramping the last few days..kindof like that yucky feeling a few days before a period would start. Anyways, I am spotting. Not alot...but it was in my panties and a little bit when I wiped. I dont have a how can I possibly be having this problem? Yesterday while doing dishes, my son ran into the kitchen and into me pushing me into the countertop. Could this have done something?

Re: spotting 6 mo post op?

The spotting could be some slow healing, granulation issues with the vaginal cuff, being injured from bumping the counter top, a bladder issue, hormonal imbalance, vaginal dryness, and more. You should let your doctor know what is going on, but likely you don't need to panic!

If you find you have bright red bleeding that fills a pad an hour, definitely seek medical attention immediately. Never hesitate to contact your doctor's answering service when you are experiencing new issues. It is always okay to be safe, rather than sorry!

I know it can be frightening to see blood months and years down the road from a hysterectomy! The first time I had it happen followed intercourse and my doctor feels I probably had some dryness for whatever reason. The other times turned out to be a bladder issue.

Likely you are fine but take it easy until you can get in touch with your doctor.

Re: spotting 6 mo post op?

I am four months post op from DaVinci total hysterectomy. I have had no spotting but when I went to my gyn/onc ( had end.cancer, stage 1A/1) for my first internal, he saw a spot of blood in my vagina. Of course, I panicked, and he said it was absolutely nothing and took a pap smear. I wondered the same thing, there is nothing left of my reproductive organs so what is there to cause this. It has been on my mind, but after reading many posts on here, I see where it could happen. Please keep updating so we know where you're at with this. Shirl
