Risky behavior?

Had a TAH 11 days ago. Got to keep my ovaries. I was strong and healthy going into the procedure. The surgery was quick with no complications. Obviously I'm moving slowly, but overall feeling good. Haven't even needed anything but an occasional Tylenol for pain. My DH is wonderful but absolutely had to go back to work this week. My teens are trying, but they're teens and mostly just trying to take care of themselves when they aren't in school. So, I'm home alone all day. Is putting a few glasses in the dishwasher, making myself a sandwich, or taking my 11lb dog out to his "spot" once or twice a day going to cause me damage. I rest a lot in between and when DH comes home.

Re: Risky behavior?

Just be careful with the bending.. and no lifting!! I was doing a few little things after that amount of time, but the key is to still rest, rest and more rest. If the kids won't help, leave it undone, period.... Be careful the dog is not pulling.. even 11 pounds yanking at your arm is going to pull at your abdominals... take care and gentle hugs...

Re: Risky behavior?

A warm welcome to you.

Do be careful~ remember when bending to bend your knees and go slowly. Slow careful movements are what I would recommend.

Definitely leave any other housework~ the teens and your hubby could do it on the weekend or it can wait. Your recovery is so important.

Keep resting , I'm at 5weeks post op and I'm still resting, listen to your body. Gentle hugs
