6 wks post-op and increasing pain

Rewind 2-3 weeks ago and I was feeling great! Little to no pain at all, was able to do most daily activities without any problems. Then about last Thursday or Friday the pain came back and now is so bad I just want to cry all the time.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am so sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I have been in pain for so long now and just want it all to stop. Just when I think I am getting better, things get even worse. I feel so defeated. If this isn't normal what could be wrong? The pain is about the same as it was at one week post-op. I can't stand, walk, or sit up-right for too long before I can't take the pain.

I was off all pain medicine, including over the counter pain medicine at about 2 weeks, but now even the ibuprofen isn't enough. I don't know what could be wrong.

Re: 6 wks post-op and increasing pain

Give your Dr a call. Could you have been overdoing lifting or something? If not, then you could have an infection, popped something, or some other complication. Definitely it should not be worse again with no changes, so call, and hope its an easy fix.

I agree, call your doctor and let them know so they can help you figure out what is going on.

Sending you a gentle hug , let us know what the doctor says.

Re: 6 wks post-op and increasing pain

i'm 4 weeks post op TAH/BSO and same pain. going to doc tomorrow.
Please let us know how you're doing! I'm hoping my issues ( pain, pulling, sharp, stabby) are some sort of scarring/ healing / suture type thing I can get thru!

Re: 6 wks post-op and increasing pain

Well thankfully my post-op appointment is tomorrow.

However I am now questioning whether I can even wait that long to be seen. The incision site at my belly button is now obviously infected and my stomach has become quite swollen. I am developing a fever.

Ughhh I just want to scream! I just want to feel well. I hate my dang body!!!!!

Peapod33 I too am experiencing the same sharp pains and cramping and a feeling of pulling in my stomach. My stomach is soooo uncomfortable, I cant have anything around my stomach as it is so binding!! Went to the Dr. today and I am going back to have a CT scan tomorrow to see if there is any infection by using some kind of dye. Dr. said I did too much too soon. Had my LATH on 3/22, Surgeon gave me the green light to go back to work after just 9 days.. I work at a desk but I was still exhausted and stomach would totally swell at night. I also have a three yr old that I have to keep up with. I finally hit a wall and have been very emotional. Hope you appt. goes well, hope you will post a follow up.

Have you gone back to work? Are you back on pain meds again. I too have a sore sutcher that is red and has had some light fluid coming out. My doctor said I over extended myself too soon. She could not explain why my stomach was so bloated, even wearing a bra is uncomfortable....I am going to feel like a hypocondriack if nothing shows up on the CT....

Re: 6 wks post-op and increasing pain

I am at SAHM, so yeah I guess in a way I have returned to work since I don't have anyone here helping me.

I am not on any pain medicine anymore, haven't been for several weeks.
