FINALLY, a date!!!!!!!!

Finally, after all this time I have a date!!!!
Many of you know that this has been a long journey so far.

My pilo surgery had been postponed for April 22 pending results from an MRI (that I still don’t have a date for and also a long story in itself) but I got a call from the Gyn’s office on April 23 to give me a date of May 25th for the hyster and repairs!!!! They say that everything happens for a reason.

The general surgeon said she was going to contact the Gyn surgeon to let him know how bad the rectocele has become and that the uterus is pressing hard against it. I guess she did because when I originally spoke to the scheduler she said earliest would be very late June but likely July/August. He knew the situation was bad because he had his scheduler contact our local hospital to see if he could do the surgery here but they said no (my guess is that they did not want to take responsibility for an admission and have him take off back to the city after the surgery).

I managed to get a pre-op with the Gyn surgeon in his city office but it was hard to convince the surgery booker that I would not cancel after the pre-op (apparently it happens quite often). I told her how bad it was getting and that cancelling is not an option for me. I see him May 14th.

The last time I saw him he said he will be doing the rectocele and sphincter repair first because he says it is the most serious of my problems and will be a very complicated repair and may take a long time. After that, he will do the hyster. He will make up his mind after I am under as to whether or not to do the cystocele (he says that I will be as relaxed as I can be so he can check elasticity).
He said that doing both repairs may make me too small . He said I may never be able to have the cystocele done because of that.

If he cannot do the hyster, he wants me fully recovered from the repair/repairs before he goes in again.
I have to contact the general surgeon on Monday to inform her. I will not be able to have the pilo surgery until I am fully recovered from this one.

I am on one big emotional rollercoaster right now!!!!!

Hugs,
Suzanne

Re: FINALLY, a date!!!!!!!!

You have had a lot to deal with lately
Kudos to you for being so proactive, sometimes we just need to keep on asking and telling until we get results!

I hope that everything falls in line and the going is easier from now on.

Re: FINALLY, a date!!!!!!!!

Jean and WKShadow
Thanks for the hugs, thoughts and prayers. They are much appreciated.
I know I have to learn to take one step at a time without the whole plan being laid out. That is hard for me.
I am presently (this minute anyway!!!) at peace with the fact that at least one surgery is booked for next month. Hopefully it happens as scheduled.
I know I can count on support here and am so thankful that I have been able to come here for help over the last few months.
I am very sure that I will need you all even more over the next few months.
all for being here!!!
Hugs,
Suzanne
