Vision issues after surgery
Any others having vision problems since surgery - I've had to change my contact twice since the surgery 7 months ago. Now I am hearing that it could be the hormones not my eyes. Agghhhhh

Re: Vision issues after surgery
Yes, I have heard of women developing vision issues. It may be a coicidence or it might be menopause or a hormonal imbalance. Personally, I didn't have any issues until I turned 40 (had my tah/bso at 36). 40 is the typical age for vision to start changing, at least that is what my eye doc had told me when I was 35.

Re: Vision issues after surgery
i saw my eye dr the week before surgery and asked him about this... i know that vision can change with pregnancy, so was wondering if it will change with menopause... he said it absolutely can, but hope it won't... i'm only 4 weeks out, so don't know what will happen with my eyes... that are bad anyway...

Re: Vision issues after surgery
YES!!! Within a couple of weeks, my vision got noticeably worse. It improved a bit with more estrogen but is not back to where it was pre-ovary removal. Had to get serious reading glasses.

Re: Vision issues after surgery
I am go glad to see this post - went to eye doctor last week because my vision was definitely changing. I had a strong contact prescription before surgery - now doc telling me I may need reading glasses. I also had eye infection that they have to treat first before figuring out what my new contact prescription should be. This was the last thing I expected from surgery!

Re: Vision issues after surgery
I went for an eye exam a month before surgery. Now I'm needing my reading glasses a lot more even though I have bifocal contacts. Lots of eye strain too.

Re: Vision issues after surgery
I didn't even think about my vision being affected by hormones. I have had more issues since my surgery. Wow! Hormones can cause a lot of things to go haywire

Vision issues after surgery
Yes your vision can be affected. If you are having trouble make an appointment with your OD. Make sure to tell them when your surgery was when making the appointment.

Re: Vision issues after surgery
My eyes have been a LOT dryer, and tire more easily. I have been treating it with over the counter drops.
Not sure if I can handle my vision getting much worse as I am already legally blind without corrective lenses! I may have to break down and get that laser correction done... hubby probably won't be too happy!

Re: Vision issues after surgery
Wow.
I should have checked in here sooner. I am having trouble and just got a pair of new glasses. He gave me prescription drops because my eyes are so dry that my cornea's are peeling (gross) so I do drops twice a day and then go back in four months. IF it doesn't get better, I'll ask him about the hormone issue.
