what movies should I rent?

Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if any of knew of any good movies I should rent during my recovery. I don't rent movies often, so chances are there are even some older ones out there that are good, that I haven't seen.

Thanks for your suggestions

Well, I guess it really depends on what you like. I would assume that too much laughter may hurt your stomach.

I loved "The Piano." Great acting, great cinematography, great soundtrack, etc.

some good movies

Although I usually go for comedies, I agree that laughing hysterically may not be a good idea for a while Some good ones I plan to watch are "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir"- a classic
; "It's a Wonderful Life"- my all-time favorite, "Remember the Titans"- truly one of the best new movies around, and "The Bishop's Wife"- the original w/Cary Grant. "The Family Man" w/ Nicholas Cage is great, too. Well, in my opinion, anything w/ Nicholas Cage is great

A couple of really old movies that I ALWAYS enjoy:

"Mildred Pierce" and "Imitation of Life"

I don't think either would make you laugh too much!

It's funny, but I found that I didn't have the patience (or the concentration!) to watch a whole movie until a few weeks after surgery. I enjoyed just flipping around through the channels, and spending a few minutes here and there.

I agree, stay away from the staple-buster comedies for a little while!

(Moonstruck always makes me smile....that's a good one!)

I have to agree that watching a rip-roaring comedy would NOT be a good idea! Some movies that you may enjoy (IMHO)....

Roman Holiday (Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn)...kinda romance

The Ghost and Mr.Chicken (Don Knotts)...smiley comedy

Dirty Dancing (Patrick Swayze)...feel-good movie

Dead Poet's Society (Robin Williams)...drama (feel good)

Shakespeare in Love (Gwyneth Paltrow)...romance

Gosh, if I had more time I could probably come up with a lot more, but I'm sure there will be many suggestions from others too. Besides hilarious comedies, I would think that scary or suspensful movies would probably cause you to tense up your tummy...I would stay away from those as well.
Good luck with your surgery!!! You will soon be a princess!!!
