scars and stretch marks

Well I think I have to assume there will probably be some stretch marks. So I am going to get something for that - probably should have started long ago. Anyway, is there something I can do that can make my incision scar less noticeable? I will get some type of oil to apply when it starts itching which I am sure it will.

Should I expect to have to have some blood?

Happy to report I am not freaking out anymore. Thank God. Wasn't looking forward to that ride all week.

Re: scars and stretch marks

As for the stretch marks and incision scars, wear those proudly cuz its shows that you were one brave lady to have the surgery.

And I am glad you have now come to peace with your upcoming surgery. Being calm as much as possible will be the key for sure.

Hang in there.

Re: scars and stretch marks

I usually scar bad but I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Tummy Butter. This made the itching much better and scar looks good. Had my six week checkup last week and Dr could not believe how good the scar looked.

thank you, thank you, thank you. Palmer's is on my list now! Easy to "hang in there" with so many hands to hang on to!

Re: scars and stretch marks

If you do decide to get something to put on your scar, check with your doctor first......you don't want to risk any infection. Plus, you will need to know how long you have to wait before you can put anything on it.

Re: scars and stretch marks

I'm using Mederma on my scar and on an old one from a biopsy for skin cancer. I've seen big improvements in the old scar. I didn't not start putting it on the new scar until 6 weeks post-op.
