Evamist Estrogen Spray

Wowsa....I started using Evamist estrogen spray several weeks ago and loved it at first but suddenly developed a painful sore throat in the gland area. It has taken me forever to figure out what was going on! I even had a round of antibiotics because maybe it was an infection!! If I spray on the left side, my left throat hurts and vice versa. Anyone else have issues with this spray? I've discontinued it and will start back on my vivelle dot patches as soon as this pain goes away. I wanted to give my body a day or two to flush it out...

Re: Evamist Estrogen Spray

It could be that you're having a reaction to one of the ingredients in the spray. Do you have any allergies?

Why did you change from the Dot?

Re: Evamist Estrogen Spray

I switched from the dot to the mist because i felt like toward the end of the dot I would have a hormone dip and my doc suggested the spray because it's a more consistent dose of estrogen.

I am anxious to get the residual of the spray out of my system....this has been painful!

thank you for your reply.

Re: Evamist Estrogen Spray

again, You could ask your doctor if you could change the Dot a little earlier. I have read where some need to do this. You are also very early post op, so you may have some peaks and valleys as your body recovers from surgery and uses up its stored reserves of hormones. During the early months post op it's not unusual to experience hormone fluctuations. Keeping a journal during this time can be very helpful.
