Need help keeping calm, know any good books?

Does anyone know some good books to take my mind off the up coming surgery. I won't even have a date for my surgery for another 3-4 weeks, and I think they're booking in November. If I wasn't suffering with cronic pain and bloating, I probably would be less emotionally distraught. I really need some help taking my mind off this. In the past I used to enjoy reading romance novels, but currently, the romance just makes me think of the surgery. I also am not ready to read stressful, or blood and guts books. Anyone know a good book series to start?

For a fun change of pace you could try the "Miss Julia" novels by Ann B. Ross!

Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. You'll laugh until tears are running down your face. It's much better to read them in order and they are a quick read.

Totally agree with Janet Evanovitch...easy to read and you will find yourself laughing out loud. I agree you should read them in order (number series).

I love the twilight series, its got romance, vampires action , laughing and I know you that you didnt want romance but I when I started reading this series it was so worth it. And there is 4 books and they are long so it will keep you reading for awhile. Good luck with your surgery and pray they can get you in faster.

I understand the need to keep calm and try to find ways of keeping your mind off of your upcoming surgery. If you haven't had the opportunity yet, you might want to scroll down the Forum page and take a look at the Friends Without Faces Forum. There is a sub-forum there called Review It and you'll find some great reviews and suggestions that might be of interest.

Welcome to HysterSisters! We're glad you found us and we'll do what we can to help you through this journey!
