First outing - 9 days post op

Hey sisters,

Had my first small outing today and it felt good to get out and enjoy some beautiful Tennessee sunshine even tho it was only for a short while.

A friend of mine had a couple of errands to run so she picked me up and I rode along with her. It felt good to get out of the house. Recuperation should be spelled re"coop"eration as you're cooped up in the house

I'm having a bit of pinkish/light brownish bleeding but I gather from the posts here this is normal. I am a tad tired too - but again it felt gooooooooooooood to get out.

Wishing you all good healing!

good for you liss

I remember my first outing was a walk to the park and back. I ended up napping for 2 hours. The funny part is that the park is less than a block from my house!

I too was humbled today!

Me too! Me too!
I got up and actually dressed with hair and makeup all done...needed to rest from that but after resting then drove to WALMART! It was unbelievable how slowly I plodded the aisles. A 20 minute trip required a 3 hour nap when I got home but now that I'm rejuvenated I say "AGAIN".

It is gonna take a long, long time to recoup from this deconditioning! I know you can lose up to 7% of your strength laying in bed a week but when it comes to me I'm "Miss Denial". Well today I was humbled!

Yep it was good to be out of the house for a few but now a few hours later I'm beginning to feel the effects.

I'm kinda achy all over and think I'm gonna pop a pain pill (which I haven't needed in a few days) and hit the old couch.

On the road to recovery!

First Outing 8 days

Yes, I finally had to get out for a bit. My mother came over to take me to the bank and the grocery store. Then I went back to Mom and Dad's for dinner. Slept in the chair for an hour after a 30 minute outing. But I guess I am doing well. Maybe I will be able to sleep tonight. I was up really late. Trying to get some sort of schedule going. But it did feel good to be out instead of in the house. I too seem to tire doing just the normal things of washing hair and getting ready. I find that I have to sit and rest a few moments before I can continue. I hate being slow, I have always been fast getting things done...now I take time for the roses.
