question about Estradiol

My dr is calling in a Rx for this due to my horrible emotional issues.

Who else has used this? How soon can I expect to see or feel a difference?

I will be taking the tablet form.

Anything you can share with me about this is very welcomed.

Re: question about Estradiol

I am taking the 2Mg. tablet (blue) 1 mg. was not strong enough. Night sweats have turned into just dry heat no sweating but HOT most nights. Sleeping better but still have nights when I can not sleep and night sweats on nights when I had some alcohol or too much sweets Still have mood swings where I feel good and some days I feel lousy and I have been having dizzy spells that I never had before I started estrogen. This first started when I was on the Vivelle Dot patch. Switched to pills and still just about as dizzy. No really sure if it is result of estrogen. Went on the patch 4 weeks after tvh with A & P repair. 2 months post op and having granulation issues. Things seem good one day and lousy the next so I can't really say where all that is coming from

Re: question about Estradiol

Hi

Here is a link to Estrogen Choices: Bio-identical estrogen You will find info there about Estradiol.

It can take up to 6 weeks to feel the full effect of any new HRT or dose change. It is important to be patient during this time, as the estrogen builds up in your system, and your body adjusts to getting estrogen from it's new source.

I usually notice at least some difference right away. Then not so noticeable on a daily basis.

Re: question about Estradiol

I have taken 1 mg for the last 3 weeks. My only symptoms were occasional night hot flashes. They have ceased, but I have extreme fatigue and some naseau in the evening- I would rather have my hot flashes. Going back to check in with the doc next week... trying to be patient-

Re: question about Estradiol

GA I have been going through what I call one of the worst times since I entered into menopausal symptoms 5 yrs ago....my lab work showed low thyroid (not too bad, but I had so many symptoms), I was very low in estradiol as well....I went to a new doctor to evaluate some of this stuff....
when you say horrible emotional issues, I was terribly depressed, when the doctor started me on prometrium, it went to disaster mode...went off of that, and now just on the vivelle patch....I will tell you that I did not do the right thing and get my hormone levels checked on a regular basis, so the fact that the patch I was using wasn't strong enough went over my head, until I had a tonsillectomy in April, and at the second week of recovery, a severe fatigue, depression came on, doctors didn't see any infection related to the tonsillectomy...

I am trying my best to get things working better, by taking a good multivitamin, COq10, Omega3, and my Vitamin D was very low, she gave me an 8 week, once a week capsule and then I will start on my regular IU of 2000 a day....

Did your doctor do any lab work to determine any levels? I am not where I want to be by any means, but today was the first day I was able to leave my house in over 2 weeks due to the fatigue that had knocked me off my feet...I have been taking Armour Thyroid for 16 days, so maybe something good will happen with the upper level of estradiol too....
