Re: omg...I am getting so fat!

I'm glad to hear someone else say it. I was started on 1 mg estradiol and the night sweats stopped but my breasts and stomach grew!. I have to admit I like the breast but I feel sooooobloated and stuffed!!! I was told to lower the dose, but this is making me feel so bad I am just going to stop and maybe try again later at a much lower dose this time. Most of what I read says estrogen doesn't cause weight gain....I'm glad there are some real people who have experienced it!!!

Re: omg...I am getting so fat!

For me the bloating and sore, enlarged breasts are an indication of estrogen dominance. The cure for me was more progesterone. I doubled my progesterone dose and the bloating went away. The level of estrogen I need to feel right requires 200 mg of progesterone for balance. Maybe you just haven't found your 'balance.'

I need to work out several times a week to feel good and I eat about 1/3 of what I ate pre-hyster. I've lost 45 pounds, feel good and eat healthy.

The bloating and weight gain can be hormonal. It isn't just HRT it seems to be the wrong balance that causes problems. Maybe you just haven't found what's right for you. You might want to talk to your doc about a change in dose or delivery.
