Re: Hot flashes night sweats~
Thanks girls~i am going to talk to my doctor about a low dose. I can't do the hot flashes and night sweats anymore. I use to get them right before my period started and now i have them every night since my surgery!!
I have "mini panic attacks"/ANXIETY is what sets off the hot flashes during the day. At night it is the wild crazy dreams that wakes me up covered in sweat!

Hot flashes night sweats~
I am taking a pill that has, among other things in it, black cohash in it...and I am doing well on it. This pill is something my doctor recommended...from a website that requires a doctor recommendation (not a prescription.).
I feel better hormonally that I did before...I am even taking less of my GABA than I did before.

Re: Hot flashes night sweats~
I opted to do the menopause thing on my own. I added extra calcium, vitamin d. I take Lexapro for anxiety/depression which I have been on for years. That has kept my moods even. I take Estroven PM at night. This is a soy supplement that has helped me with sleeping and the dry skin. It has some black cohosh in it that helps the night sweats.
I been doing this combination for 2 1/2 months and it has worked for me.

There are 3 completed studies and 1 still ongoing that shows hrt is safe for women with low grade (stage 1&2) endometrial cancer. I heard this from my oncologist and in the Endocrine Society's brand new scientific statement.
My new oncologist felt it was safe to prescribe estrogen therapy and after
starting , the night sweats are gone and I now sleep like in the good old days.

Thank you, squeakerbear and angelkisses02 for the advice on supplements. Will check it out! And will add some soy to my diet. Which foods are rich in soy? Soy sauce has too much sodium for me to eat it more often.

Re: Hot flashes night sweats~
 Hi,
Be careful with the supplements. Women who don't have their ovaries do not metabolize the supplements the same as women with ovaries. For example, soy can be used by the ovaries to make an estrogen that your body can use. Without ovaries, the supplements won't have the same effect.
