Had pre-op appt. today

Well I just went to the Dr. for my pre-op appt and it went well for the most part. The exception to that is my uterus and bladder both have mild prolapse caused by a large fibroid. The good news is that he feels that he can preserve my cervix despite the prolapse The Dr. confirmed that the fibroid is pushing into my vagina when i strain. So that is the source of my discomfort (i feel like im loosing something in there and it puts pressure down there). More good news: my cervix cannot fall out because the fibroid is taking space up near the entrance and so blocking the way out and if that isn't enough news, the Dr. says that for my age (47), those muscles are in very good shape and everything is healthy He said we would not be sitting here talking if it werent for the fibroid located in the bladder/vaginal area. Location, location, location. So, no prolapse repair for bladder, it will resolve on its own when the fibroid is removed, minor cervical attachment due to mild prolapse, 3 day hospital stay for SAH, ovaries and cervix stay, I get a spinal with light anesthesia, and the dr and i are hoping the my cranky bladder with large post void residual will resolve on its own with weight relief. But there is a chance that i will need a catheter to come home for awhile (lets hope not). Oh, and no bowel prep, regular food as tolerated on day 2 And one more thing, only fasting after midnight Question: Does anyone think that Olive Garden spaghetti (light on the sauce) would be tolerated for supper on day 2? (take out).

Re: Had pre-op appt. today

It sounds like you had a productive pre-op appointment wit lots learned.

I think that you should play it by ear about Olive Garden ( yum ). If you feel up to it then and your dr approves - go for it

Best wishes, I hope that all goes well.
