I went to the doctor for a checkup and to have staples removed. The doctor finally agreed to put me on hormones as long as I will agree to take Coumadin(a blood thinner) for a history of blood clots. The doctor started me on Prempro .625. I will be so glad when these hot flashes take a hike. One minute I can be comfortable the next I'm burning up. Yesterday I spent the majority of the day cold. I asked the doctor about it today and he asked if I took my temperature. I didn't of course. He checked my temperature and told me it was normal but possibly that the being cold could be caused by hormone imbalance. He said the hormones should take care of that.

He also told me that he hopes I never have to have surgery again. He said it took them longer to get into my abdomen than it did to actually remove the ovary. I had scar tissue and adhesions from two previous surgeries. I told him I wasn't volunteering for anymore surgeries anytime soon!

My incision is healing well according to the doctor accept for one area around my belly button. I'm hoping I don't get another infection. I had infections after both my last two surgeries. He said to watch it and if it starts draining or getting red to call right away.

He also released me to go back to work on the 29th part-time. He said I shouldn't have any problems because I have a desk job but to remember no lifting or bending. I think the lifting part is the hardest for me. But, I'm trying to be good! Then he said he would see me again in three months. I said no six week checkup and he said no as long as you continue to do well.

Pathology report revealed a serous benign tumor on my left ovary. He said they may still want me to go for CT's and CA125's every three months due to the fact that I had a papillary mucinous low malignancy tumor removed off my right ovary last year. He said he would consult with the gynocologist oncologist and see what she recommended.

I'm hoping this is the end of one long year of worrying about everything and now I can truly get back to healthy again.

Glad to hear

you are doing well!! Remember to take it easy! You don't want to mess up a good thing!! Sounds like you are being a good princess! If you can you may want to ease into going back to work. I had a TVH and went back at 6 weeks part-time for two weeks. It really helped as I was sooo tired those first 2 weeks back. Last week was my first week back full time and I could tell such a difference in my stamina! I work in a medical office as a receptionist/medical transcriptionist and am up and down all day, but I found that sitting was almost as tiring as standing and moving around. Take as many breaks as you can and continue to pamper yourself!! It will be well worth it in the end!
