Incision "pain/numb" question...

Alright, parts of my belly are still really sore, to be expected, above and below my bikini cut incision....the side of the incision kind of sting as they are healing...to be expected...

but here is the weird thing....my actual incision is still numb...when the doc cleaned out the left side the other day, i did not feel it till he actually got a little bit deep to "new healing skin"....

anyone else have a numb incision still???

Re: Incision "pain/numb" question...

i've had multiple abdomen/pelvic surgeries and have numb places all over... some of the big incisions are annoying with their numbness, but i've gotten used to them over the years...

Re: Incision "pain/numb" question...

wonder if the numbness lasts longer with each time they go in the same scar? This will be the 4th surgery in that same place.

Re: Incision "pain/numb" question...

I'm five weeks tomorrow and still numb and sore all at the same time.

When my DD was 13 months old she had major kidney and bladder surgery...and we now release it took years for the odd numb feeling to go away. I figured I had a fashion diva when she was a toddler...she always wanted to wear dresses a d nighgowns. Then when she was 5 or 6 she told us it was because pants had bothered her belly. I asked her doctor and they confirmed it could have been from her surgery. She's now almost 9 and is fine...but it took years.

Re: Incision "pain/numb" question...

you know, i had gall bladder surgery almost 17 years ago, and for years I could not stand anything around my belly, where they put the laproscope i guess....i was happy when low rise jeans became popular, not because of how they look, but because they didn't irritate my belly...still dont like anything that squeezes my belly
