ovulating??

Hi girls,

Here's a question that I hope someone can answer, would call my doc - but she is out of the office (she had her own baby -hoping everything went well for her).

Anyway here goes - Last night (and today) I noticed that my breasts are really tender and a dull pain in lower right side. These are the same syptoms that I would get about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks before my period. I am assuming that since I still have both ovaries that I must be ovulating. Could I be right or is this something I should be concerned about?

Hoping that someone else has had the same thing happen to them and can clue me in.

Big 's to all of you and my God Bless you!!

ovulating??

Mae,
If your overies remain then it is likely that you are experiencing ovulation.
I had an ovulation last month where my nipples became extremely tender and my ovaries made me cramp. I said it was the worst period I had had since my Hyst LOL!
Count it as a blessing as they are shorter than before usually and of course you don't have the mess associated with it. And you know the hormones are flowing and life is good.
Blessings<><

sounds familiar

Mae

I went through the same thing. I still have my ovaries and they haven't figured out that they rotten partner in crime deserted them. My told me to take Advil and that does the trick. My PMS only lasts about 2-3 days instead of 3 weeks. Now that's something I can live with.

ovulating??

hi!! yes,i also had a TAH,and kept my ovaries(surgery,7/24/01). i also "ovulate",and my breasts feel tender, and i get irritable, still. nothing new there. it's normal, since you do have your ovaries,to have ovulation occur, even without your uterus anymore,to menstruate. isn't that the wonderful part? no more blood!!! are you taking any hormones at all? i don't have to,but because i am hypothyroid,i have to keep a check on my TSH every 6 months. i used to be hot,all the time, regardless of the temperature indoors or out,but now find myself feeling the change in room temp when the air is on in the office. i don't get uncomfortably chilled, but now i don't complain as much about it as i did prior to surgery. that may be my hypothyroidism, now that i've had the hyst. i never used to be sensitive like that. oh,well. the times, they are a-changing!!!

I did not know I would still be ovulating after my hyster. Makes sense... but I really did not know that would still happen.

ovulating??

Just one more comment: I kept one ovary. When I got my first post-op episode of PMS (at about 5 weeks), it was quite a strong one, but my Dr. said that PMS will lessen in intensity with time. He was right.

My very best to you...
