Exhaustion

I'm almost 3 months post-op from LSH, still have my cervix & ovaries.

I feel like I did well as far as recovery. However, I feel very, tired, 'all the time'. Very low energy....tiring before noon. I dream of 'night time', so I can go to bed.

Anybody else feeling this tired? Is this normal?
When can I expect it to get better?

Thx!

Re: Exhaustion

I as exhausted for months following my hysterectomy. I did have complications that including internal bleeding and anemia. I also had little to no appetite so I wasn't eating well and I was having issues with dehydration. Those all contributed to feelings of exhaustion.

Are you sleeping all night long? For how many hours? Any chance you have developed sleep apnea?

What about eating and drinking? Are you eating enough and eating well and you drinking plenty of water?

Did you have issues with anemia prior to surgery? What is your blood pressure? Have your exercise habits changed?

You might want to talk to your GYN or GP and mention the exhaustion. Tiredness can be a sign of so many different issues so your doctor(s) could be the best one to determine what might be causing your specific symptoms.

in there and sweet dreams!

Re: Exhaustion

Maybe you should have your thyroid checked. That can certainly give you the "can't wait to get back into bed blues!"
When my thyroid was out of whack, I described it as swimming in maple syrup.
It wouldn't hurt to have it checked just in case.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Exhaustion

I was anemic before surgery and I think my hemoglobin levels are normalizing well (time for another test). But I definitely get really tired. I have observed that I can go strong for about 3 hrs and then I either need a nap or need to lay down and rest my body for a few moments. And what a difference that makes - but I know not everyone can rest every 3 hrs due to work schedules, etc.

But exhaustion has been my reality post surgery - not as extreme as the first couple of weeks though.
