cold while on hrt??
Just recently, I have started feeling cold all the time. No hot flashes. (I am on injectable testosterone and estradiol). Anyone else? I guess I thought coldness was something that happened at the end of menopause and am confused by this because I am on hrt. Thoughts anyone?

Re: cold while on hrt??

Yes, I had a feeling of coldness during my early months post op. I would get a hot flash and not too long thereafter I would suddenly get very cold, I would get so cold my teeth would literally start to chatter. Over time, this did get better for me. You are still very early post op, things could still be settling hormonally.

Re: cold while on hrt??
I haven't started HRT yet because I'm always cold. Before surgery I was always the one sitting around sweating. Figured it was because of my weight. Since surgery I haven't had a hot flash yet (not complaining) and have instead been cold. It is a really hot summer here in GA. I think I'm the only person still covering up!

Re: cold while on hrt??
Oh no Sunflower, I am here in VA, hot humid, no rain, but here I am, not being able to barely run my AC. I have to keep it on 80 to be able to not get too cold. I am at the thermostat all day, and the car AC is a nightmare. It is getting almost impossible to be arouind others with this problem.
What I found out is that my thyroid gland is low, my primary doctor gave it no thought, all the symptoms, but didn't pay attention to the lab work....I am afraid that I was skittish about using thyroid med so I had to restart back on it 2 weeks ago....I have been reading that being cold is one way that doctors put the symptoms and even questionable labs together....but depending on what you read, you might read something different...
I will also add that the hot flash/chill thing is worse in the morning....in fact, to me the chill is worse than the hot flash....it's almost like my body doesnt know where it is supposed to be...hot or cold
I did read as well that a low body temp can be indicative of low thyroid, which I have run temps of 96.5.....since I have been on the thyroid med, I notice I am running temps that are about 97.5....So I don't know if it has anything to do with it...but, its so strange to me, all the weird temp fluctuations...I tried describing it to the doctors, but they don't get it....if you touch my skin, it feels warm to the touch, but no temp...and can't stand the AC too high.....just weird
