Decided

Hi Ladies, first timer..

I need your help! I am having a Partial Lipro Hist (keeping my overis and cervics) The procedure is next week on the 29th and have some questions I am hoping y'all can help:

I'm going for my Pre-op the end of this week but anxious to know what you all advise.

How long out of work? I want to be off as long as I can...
How long do these surgery's take - how many hours?
Will I be admitted for a night or two with a partial?

What to expect pre-op
What to expect after surgery

Thak you

Re: Decided

I go to the castle in just a few hours. I am not sure about your questions right now, but I can tell you about my experience soon. I know after reading many many posts in the last few days that everyone seems to heal much differently. I heard from days to weeks to months. Same thing about the hospital stay. It really depends on you and your doctor. Mine said that if all goes well I can go after one night, but could stay more if I felt like it.

Re: Decided

Hi samsplace411 and

I don’t have the experience with a Partial Lapro but the inside stuff all has to heal.

I had TVH with repairs and I will be going back to work at 10 weeks. My surgery was 2 and a half hours and I was in for two nights. That being said, I would have been out by 7 a.m. the morning after the surgery if I had the hyst without the repairs and the surgery time would have been less.

Make a list of questions for your pre op with the Dr. The hospital pre op will likely be bloodwork, pre-admission paper work and depending on your age and condition possibly chest X-ray and ECG.

My recovery hasn’t been exactly normal because of all the repair work.

Good luck with your surgery and recovery.

Hugs,
Suzanne

Re: Decided

Count on taking at least 4-6 weeks off work. If you can take more, by all means do it! I wasn't lucky enough to have that much time off work, nor am I able to afford taking it, but I know I'm gonna pay for it. At least my job doesn't require me to move around much.
Make sure you write down a list of everything you have questions about. Your doctor should be more than willing to answer them all, and even offer up some additional information. It's important you feel confident going into this type of surgery.
And remember, you'll always have women here to vent to when needed.

Good luck!
