Vivelle Dot problem - has anyone tried Amberen?

Today is week 5 for me at wk.3 my dr. changed me to vivelle DOT .075 from .005 I finally took my patch off yesterday 7/25 I couldn't stand the pain! My hips and lower back were killing me, my head felt like someone was stabbing me over and over, my feet were swollen and I started having vertigo with nausea.
Well I had been feeling GREAT until friday 7/23, my husband got home from work at 3:30 we laid down to "nap" well 5hrs. later I woke up, I was back in bed at 11:00pm then up sat 7/24 @ 8:30 to fall asleep on the couch @ 11:30am I woke up @ 4:00 and back to bed @ 9:30pm. I don't know what's up but I woke up sunday @ 8am got on the computer to check the vivelle DOT side affects what's happening to me are ALL on the list! Sooo @ 11am I took the patch off, I'd rather have a deep voice and a beard than feel like that!! By 4:24pm my symptoms had pretty much gone away except for the lingering vertigo.
I have a dr. appt tomorrow 7/27 I'm going to see if I can make it without HRT, I know there's some herbal remedies out there I'm going to loook into. Has anyone tried AMBERINE?

I haven't tried it , but you can do a Search here on Amberen and see what threads come up on it

You might want to Google the ingredients in it to see if it is something you want to take. I think it has MSG in it and I know I could not take it because of the side effects I get from it. I would print up what is in it and then check with your doctor to see if it is okay.

You might check your health food store or drug store for help with supplements for menopause.

Re: Vivelle Dot problem - has anyone tried Amberen?

Thanks SuzyQ for the input,
I had my Dr. appt yesterday 7/27 5 wks. she said since I'm not having any symptoms maybe I'm one of those who don't need HRT, I was having hot flashes and night sweats before my surgery so maybe HOPEFULLY I can get thru this being just warm .
I asked her about those herbal remedies I was thinking estroven, amberen, etc. but she said sometimes the herbs (whatever is in them) will bind on the breast tissue or liver and cause problems. I guess nothing is full proof.
Oh Well, I'm going to TRY to do this without HRT but with alot of FANS!!
Have a GREAT day and I hope Everyone gets to feeling better.
