10 weeks post op - still in pain

Hi- I'm new and am so happy to have found this forum.
I had a partial on May 12(kept ovaries) after years of dealing with endometriosis. Doc said post op some things about my uterus that were "bad" and it was definitely time to come out however he disagreed with my previous docs diagnosis from the last lap that said I had endo in the cul de sac area possibly attached to my bowel.
I am still in a tremendous amount of lower back pain radiating to my knees- same pain I have been dealing with for yearsz I am so frustrated and dint know what to do. I am tired of telling people that I am in pain-doubled over at times. My doc said 99% guaranteed pain free after this and- no- still the same pain. Not cyclic. It's any time. I am now concerned that maybe it's my colon (i have severe IBS since a child or bladder- that's all that's left down there so hopefully I find something soon. It's ver unbearable! I'm 39- had 3 c-section- no adhesions! I'm worried ... Had pelvic ultrasounds- everything fine- except secure lower back and abdominal pain - always. So depressed...

Re: 10 weeks post op - still in pain

I am really sorry you are struggling and in so much pain.

Do you think your endometriosis pain is related to your back pain? I read a report of a women recently that actually had endo that was causing severe nerve damage. It might be time for you to seek out an endometriosis specialist. Remember though, a hysterectomy isnt a cure for endo, that's why it is important that our remove all of the endo otherwise there will continue to be pain.

I most certainly can relate to your depression. It's really tough to cope when you are in constant pain and people just don't get it. THat's why it is so important to keep pushing for answers. I have been dealing with endo since I was 18 and had my lavh/bso at 31. It was a long battle but one worth fighting.

Don't give up! Get a second opinion. Keep searching and gathering information until you find a doctor that will be able to help you. Come over to our Endometriosis forum. There are many endo sisters there to support you.
