mood swings vs PMDD

Hello Sisters,
I suffer from horrible "mean~ness" two weeks out of the month, one week prior to period and the week of as well. I was wondering if the menopause mood swings are as bad or worse as this? I have angry outbursts and my DH is just waiting for my head to start spinning,lol. I was ready to call my gyn and beg for valium today so I would stop feeling so mad about nothing! I try to suffer in silence but it seems like it's just getting worse. I am afraid to go through menopause because I am only 33 and I have heard so many horror stories about HRT. I read the article on here though and it doesn't sound too scary, so I'm just afraid of mood swings! Thank you!

i'm 36 and in surgical menopause... my mood swings go from meaness to depression... i'm on HRT and anti-depressants... it doesn't happen all the time or last very long... my husband says i'm worse the day before i change my vivelle patch, so tuesdays and fridays are my meaner days... i'm pretty sure i had undiagnosed PMDD and was horrible before my periods... my meaness isn't as bad as that i don't think...

Thank you! I think that sounds better than being this way for days on end! I think we could handle a couple days a week vs 24/7 for 14 days straight! PMDD is crazy! I get so mad at stupid stuff, like if the tv is loud then I imagine myself breaking it and my tone of voice changes the whole time too like I'm some sarcastic "other me". Not to mention cramps and backache. Was it your choice to lose your ovaries? My doc said if they covered in adhesions then he'll take them but I think I'm going to have him do it anyway because of the PMDD....
